During this period I experimented with adding lights to the roof, stringing multi-colored LED's along the length of the peak. I also had this crazy idea to cover the roof but that experiment didn't pan out after realizing how many lights it was actually going to take.  Plus, my climbing on the roof wasn't setting well with my wife, so we made the decision to only strings colored lights along the peak of the house and garage, hang blue icicles along the eaves on both sides of the house, and make the columns into candy canes.
